Insurers ask that each owner acts reasonably to preserve the vessel and equipment from further damage. Your insurer will arrange for the damage be inspected. The appointment of a surveyor is at the company’s discretion. Please be patient during this initial phase of the claims process due to the volume of expected losses. Vessels South during storm season are subject to a 10% deductible if the loss occurs during a Named Storm (in this case Irma).
