Kris Vereen’s path to the world of yachting was serendipitous. Originating from the Midwest near Chicago, it wasn’t until a relocation to New England that the allure of the water was sparked. After a move to Maryland and a few other jobs, an unexpected recommendation from a friend led Kris to a growing yacht company in 2002. A temporary role soon turned into a professional partnership with Eric Smith evolved into what is now known as Atlantic Cruising Yachts. The arrival of Chris Bent in 2004 and the founding of ACY in 2013 marked the beginning of the next chapter. Kris has played a crucial role in the company’s rapid growth, leveraging her unique background and marketing acumen to innovate and expand the business.

As a partner at ACY Yachts, Kris understands that purchasing a yacht is more than just a transaction—it’s a dream come true for many clients. Her ability to anticipate challenges throughout the process comes from decades of experience. Specializing in yacht financing and insurance, she provides a steadying hand, ensuring that no question is too repetitive or complex. Kris delights in seeing the excitement in clients’ eyes as they explore the factory in La Rochelle or solidify their decision during a wine tour in Saint-Émilion. For her, every client deserves personalized attention, and she’s proud to be part of a team that delivers that service day in and day out.

Outside of ACY, Kris cherishes spending time with her husband, traveling to visit their kids and grandkids, and enjoying peaceful moments at their home pool in Annapolis. With plans to retire to North Carolina’s Ocean Isle Beach in the future, Kris remains dedicated to creating memorable experiences for her clients, ensuring they achieve their yachting dreams while working alongside a supportive and passionate team.
