South African-born yacht captain and marine specialist Jamie Deehan has built a career defined by a deep connection to the sea. Growing up along the Indian Ocean, he became a certified SCUBA diver at age 12 and qualified as an instructor by 18. His early years were shaped by surfing, free-diving, and spear fishing — pursuits that gave him a lifelong appreciation for the ocean and the lifestyle it inspires.

Since relocating to the Virgin Islands in 2013, Jamie has captained and managed a range of high-end charter yachts across the Caribbean, including the 67-foot Fountaine Pajot MY TY. Living aboard, commissioning, and running charter programs provided him with invaluable first-hand knowledge of yacht operations, maintenance, and guest experience. This practical background allows Jamie to guide clients with insight that goes beyond theory, grounded in the realities of ownership and management.

As a consultant with ACY Yachts, Jamie is deeply involved in every stage of his clients’ journey. From the build process and customization through delivery, handover, and beyond, he ensures that each yacht is not only well-suited to its owner’s goals but also set up for long-term success. His hands-on approach, technical understanding, and years of professional captaincy give clients confidence that their investment is supported at every step.

Now based full-time in the British Virgin Islands, Jamie continues to live and work within the cruising community, offering clients the benefit of both his professional expertise and his local knowledge of one of the world’s most celebrated yachting destinations.
