Chris Bent

Chris Bent boasts a distinguished 28-year career in the yacht industry, having played pivotal roles in yacht building, chartering, and dealership sectors. In 2012, he established Atlantic Cruising Yachts (now ACY Yachts) after orchestrating a management buyout of Bay Yacht Agency, a renowned dealership for catamarans and monohulls on the Annapolis waterfront for four decades.

Under his guidance, ACY Yachts rapidly grew through innovative yacht ownership programs and a commitment to exceptional customer service. The company soon became the world’s largest Fountaine Pajot dealer, expanding into Florida in 2017 and Texas in 2020. In the same year, ACY Yachts added Dufour Yachts to its portfolio, following its acquisition by the Fountaine Pajot Groupe.

Sailing is a deep-seated passion for Chris, influenced by his family legacy, including his grandfather who served as Commodore of the Miles River Yacht Club. Chris grew up sailing and racing around the Chesapeake Bay, and personally refit his Pearson 31.

Currently, as President of FCPB Company, Inc., Chris directs the growth strategy for ACY Yachts and its sister company, Waypoints Yacht Charters. In his spare time, he and his wife Dawn are active supporters of their children’s pursuits: their son Alex’s competitive rowing and their daughter Bella’s equestrian competitions across North America. Chris also cherishes his time in France, where he enjoys hosting ACY’s clients on tours of the Fountaine Pajot shipyards and indulging in Bordeaux wine tours, his second passion.
